The BlogHer 2006 conference was this last weekend in San Jose, and well attended by some pretty fabulous food bloggers. The articulate and graceful Pim of Chez Pim represented us brilliantly in the panel on Is the Next Martha Stewart a blogger? session. The two days of the conference were a whirlwind - so many interesting, intelligent, fun, engaging women, (more than 700 attendees). I stayed up way too late both nights, talking to Nicole and Kalyn, both of whom I finally got to meet for the first time. I think we talked each other's ears off for two days. If you are at all interested in blogging yourself, stay tuned to the BlogHer website to learn more about what we do. Of special interest is the Food and Drink area, where we highlight posts of note around the food blogosphere.
Saturday morning, we organized a "Birds of a Feather" gathering of food bloggers and those interested in meeting food bloggers. (Click on photos for a larger view.)

Also joining the party were Meg Hourihan of Megnut, Cheryl of Cupcake Bake Shop, Retro-Food of Retro-Food.com, Anne-Marie Nichols of A Readable Feast, Kat from KungFoodie, Anne Marie of This Mama Cooks, and Jen of Life Begins at 30. Kalyn has a complete list of the food bloggers at BlogHer. It was great to meet and see all of you! Can't wait till BlogHer 07 in Chicago. (I do hope next time they have better food.)

Hi Elise,
What a great write-up of how food bloggers connected at the conference. It was great to hang out with you and Nicole. (To all of Elise's faithful readers, she's just as wonderful in person as she is on the website!)
All the food bloggers I met were so warm and friendly. It was great to see how the love of food can connect people who don't otherwise have much in their lives in common. I'll post the whole list of food bloggers who signed my list at the "birds of a feather" meet-up sometime today, and link to here so everyone can see their pictures.
