Happy Easter 2006!

Blown eggs decorated using a "batik" method with hot wax and several stages of dyeing. Happy Easter, everyone!

Happy Easter, Elise. When I 've done this technique, I always called it "pysanky," which I think is the Ukranian term for the same process. My great grandmother gave me a kit (when I was an infant, pretty much) to make them. I use it every year, now.

Yaaay, pysanky eggs! I've got my kit set up, my drawings made, and the dyes are ready to be boiled and cooled. Yes, this is today's craft project. :-)

Beautiful eggs. Beats the heck out of the Paas (R) dyed eggs we did :-)

Ok, I now have about a dozen boiled eggs from Easter. Any suggestions on what to do with them? Other than deviled eggs, egg salad and boiled eggs w/salt. (All of which I have done, and were yummy.)

My friend Suzanne invited me over the other day to make "Hungarian Eggs".

I had no idea what I was in for.

Each egg took hours to make, but boy was it fun! I'm hooked. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Tom, we stick to deviled eggs and egg salad sandwiches, but there are a few other suggestions here.

Magnificient eggs! Did you ever get to eating them? If boiled eggs didn't spoil, I'd probably end up staring at them for a year or two. :)
