Introducing Good Bite

For the last few months, I and several other food bloggers have been working away on a nifty video project which launched today, Good Bite, produced by Deca TV, the same folks who are behind Momversation. The idea is simple. Just get a bunch of passionate food bloggers to talk about, well, FOOD, cookware, recipes, and cooking. It's sort of a no-brainer. Get any of us together and that's all we talk about anyway. Then, have talented professional chefs cook the food we talk about, and prepare the foods with how-to videos in a gorgeous studio kitchen. The idea is "Delicious Made Easy", making good cooking accessible to all.
I'm absolutely tickled to be talking food and recipes with some of my favorite food bloggers on the planet. The blogger team includes:
Shauna and Daniel Ahern, glutenfreegirl.com
Matt Armendariz, mattbites.com
Diane Cu and Todd Porter, whiteonricecouple.com
Jaden Hair, steamykitchen.com
Jeanne Kelley, jeannekelleykitchen.com
David Lebovitz, davidlebovitz.com
Catherine McCord, weelicious.com
Deb Perelman, smittenkitchen.com
Julie Van Rosendaal, dinnerwithjulie.com
(And me) Elise Bauer, simplyrecipes.com
Every week we will be producing new video episodes focusing on a particular ingredient, a cooking challenge, or a seasonal dish. The videos, and their accompanying recipes, can be found at the Good Bite website.
Here's one of the first episodes I shot with Deb of Smitten Kitchen and Jaden of Steamy Kitchen, about chicken:
Chef Dave Lawrence goes through the steps on the roasted chicken with mango chutney sauce on the recipe page. All of the dishes discussed in the Good Bite videos will have accompanying how-to videos and recipes.
I have to admit, I'm a lot more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it. That said, this is turning out to be a fun project. I showed the videos to my 11-year old nephew this morning and he gave me a high five while saying in a deep voice, "now you're a MAJOR ROCKSTAR" (the humor of which you would get if you had seen the Chipmunks movie as many times as we have.) By the way, you may notice the background of the new kitchen. Yes, the kitchen is finished, a post describing it will be coming along soon.
Anyway, when you get a chance, check out Good Bite!

Of that long list, you're the only one I read, and I only vaguely recognize one or two of the other URLs. I tried reading Jaden several months ago, but she didn't hold my attention. Oh well.
When it comes to food blogs, if a post stays in my Google Reader for more than 2 or 3 days, then it's time to delete that feed.
Love your blog Elise! I always search your site for recipes first before I go to epicurious.com or saveur, et al.
