Make Your Own Simply Recipes Cookbook with TasteBook

Have you ever wanted to have a cookbook of your favorite recipes? Just the ones you love and use the most?
Simply Recipes started as a way for me to keep track of the recipes I grew up with, and to share them with my friends and extended family. My intention all along was to print out my favorite recipes, assemble them into a binder, and give them to my sister and brothers for Christmas. Well, that never happened; the web has a way of diverting one's attention. But it may this year because many of the recipes on Simply Recipes are now available on TasteBook, essentially a build-it-yourself, customizable cookbook, in which you choose just the recipes you want.
The Simply Recipes Classics TasteBook is a hard-bound binder with 90 pre-selected recipes from Simply Recipes and a credit for 10 more recipes of your choosing. You can remove any of the recipes you don't want, and add more that you do. You can even add your own recipes and photos to your TasteBook. TasteBook is also working with Epicurious (Gourmet, Bon Appetit) and Heidi of 101 Cookbooks, so you can add recipes from those sites to your customized TasteBook as well.
When I was first introduced to TasteBook, I thought "iTunes, but for recipes". That's pretty much it, and as easy to use as iTunes too. Featured collections like Simply Recipes Classics, or collections from other contributors, are like playlists that you can mix and match. Choose the recipes you want and even pick the cover for your book.
A note about the quality. The first time I held one of these books in my hands I spilled a cup of tea all over the pages. The ink didn't run, the pages dried out fine, and I'm still using that book. This is the kind of book that you can actually use in a kitchen while cooking. Because it is ring-bound, the pages lie flat. You can easily remove the pages if you want, or add more recipes to the book. It's also a beautiful book, one that I believe you would be proud to own or give as a gift.
TasteBooks cost $34.95 for one hard-bound binder with 100 recipes or recipe credits.
Almost forgot, another cool feature of TasteBook is that you can share your "playlists" with others. I plan to create more TasteBooks to share, around different themes and seasons, and using recipes from other websites as well. If you create your own TasteBook to share, please let us know about it in the comments.
Never miss a recipe!

Wow, this is a great idea Elise! One question, though, do you send overseas also, or is the price only applicable to residents in the States? Thanks!
At the moment TasteBook is only shipping to US addresses, though from what I understand they hope to add Canada soon. ~Elise
