Merry Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas 2007

May Your Days Be Merry and Bright.

Okay, so the last time it snowed in Sacramento, it was the 1970s and we got all of 1 inch. But fruit? Fruit we have aplenty.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our kitchen to yours. May your roasts be cooked to a perfect pink (well, not your turkey roasts, no pink please), may your cookies be as crispy, chewy, or as cake-y as you like, may your jellies gel, and your custards never curdle. May you be the hostess with the most-est and the host with the perfect toast.

Stay well, safe, and warm.

~Elise and her Mom and Dad

p.s. No produce was wasted in the production of this holiday greeting. Yum!

Merry Christmas to you too! I was just up in Placerville attending a wedding and was told it snows there! You could drive about 25 miles and hope for snow! :) There is Tahoe too... :)

I'm cutting membrillo and manchego as I type, which would mean I'm either really talented or have four arms.

It's up to 60 on the East Coast, and any vestiges of snow from a week back are now gone, or, what remains, turned into ugly, sooty mounds on the side of the road.

The internet is a better place because of Simply Recipes, of that I'm sure :-).

To you and your folks, the happiest and healthiest.

Happy Christmas to you. Also I've had your site as one of my favorites for a couple of years now and never realized you were a fellow Sactown Gal. My favorite part of Sacramento Christmases is the tree in front of the Capitol. :)

Possibly one of the best Christmas toasts ever.
Hope you had a great holiday!

Thank you for your wonderful recipes, and good writing. You are an inspiration to me, in Atlanta. A dear friend from high school lives in Sacramento.

She was just diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, and has undergone chemo. She is such a trooper. I am going to tell her about Simply Recipes. I think it would cheer her up.

If you're ever in Atlanta, or North Carolina, let me know.

Kind Regards

Merry New Year and Happy Christmas.
That is the cutest picture.
Somehow it makes me think of a punchline to a joke. Like: "I'm sorry kids, Frosty's still frozen but he'll be a vegetable for the rest of his life."
The broccoli tree is great.
My kids still call broccoli trees.

As I was making your French Onion Soup this afternoon, our daughter Susan called to say Happy New Year from her home in Mannheim, Germany. I had forwarded the "Snow in Sacramento" link and she said, "Their snowman looked just like the one Karen and I made!" Bob and I lived in Sacramento for 40 years before moving to Colorado to be near Karen and her family. I found your link in the Bee food section and it is one of my favorites! Thanks so much.
P.S. The girls went to El Camino H.S. and the soup is great!
