Merry Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas 2008

D'Oh! I forgot to pick up parsley!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our house to yours. May you remember everything you went to the grocery store to get. (While you're still at the store, not on the way home.)

May you stay warm, and well fed. May you be surrounded by family and friends. May the peace of the season be upon you.

:-)

You know, seeing posts like this kind of makes me homesick. Living in Japan has its downers - the biggest being Christmas. They just don`t celebrate it over here. It`s commercial and everyone works on the glorious 25th Dec.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. Here`s to the lazy season.

Hi Elise

I just have to come out of the closet (I have been a lurker)and thank you for all your wonderful recipes, my whole Christmas dinner was based on your recipes and it was a GIANT success, even the mother in law approves. Have a great holiday and a prosperous new year.

I LOVE your site and have it on my homepage! I am always trying new recipes, I guess cooking is my hobby you could say. I made your orange marinated chicken with Spanish rice last week and we loved it! Hope you and your family have a Happy and healthy New Year.

Happy New Year Elise and tell your parents they did a great job in raising you. When I read your blogs it reminds me of my mum and dad, they have since passed, however you invoke wonderful "kitchen" memories of my parents. My dad, Mike didn't cook as many things as your dad, but what he did was the greatest. His speciality was cheesey eggs. Food is the center of all holidays and everyday living. Your site is my favorite as well. My 14 year old daughter and my 15 year old neice have begun cooking and I told them to go to your site for ideas, instructions and recipes. I told them, they cook "like us". My mum, Eleanor was a fantastic cook, she was Lithuanian, and my dad was Croation. Between the two of them, many delicious dishes have been eaten. I have now begun to teach my girls how to make stuffed cabbage and other ethnic foods to carry on the family tradtions. That is the theme for your site Elise, tradition, never lose sight of that, that is want makes this site so successful. God Bless you and grant you the desires of your heart in 2009.
