Update The round-up of all the entries can be found here.
Announcing the 12th installment of the eminent international food blogging event, Sugar High Fridays (SHF), to be held right here on Simply Recipes on Friday, September 16th, 2005, with the theme, Cooking up Custard. According to the Food Glossary, "Custard is a thick, rich, sweet mixture made by gently cooking together egg yolks, sugar, milk or cream, and sometimes other flavorings. It is enjoyed on its own or is used to make other sweet and savory dishes."
For those of you unfamiliar with this sweet event, SHF is the brainchild of Jennifer, the Domestic Goddess. Details of the event, and links to past events can be found here. The event is open to all bloggers who write about food. Just make your favorite dessert that involves custard and post it to your blog on Friday, September 16th. Send me an email at recipes{at}elise.com to let me know who you are, where you live, and a link to your post.
Update Sept 2 There have been a few questions regarding the use of custard powder. Until a week ago, I didn't even know what custard powder was! In my mind, a custard is something made with egg yolks, milk or cream, and sugar. But in the spirit of experimentation, sure, let's include custard powder. Puddings and mousses too, even if they use egg whites and not egg yolks.
Never miss a recipe!
